Falisia, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa
In one of the most picturesque spots of the North Italian Adriatic coast, where the foothills of the majestic Dolomites meet the sea, is the Bay of Sistiana, often considered the most beautiful bay of the upper Adriatic, a hidden jewel between the Duino cliffs and the castles of Miramare and Duino. In the latter, the poet Rainer Maria Rilke spent many months here between the years 1912-1922 and wrote the ten Duino Elegies. In the developed fishing village and new real estate project Portopiccolo below the original village of Sistiana is the only five-star hotel in the region, the Falisia, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa. The resort is part of the Luxury Collection of Marriott and features 58 rooms and suites, a private beach with infinity pool, one gourmet restaurant with vitality cuisine, a lounge bar, a spa area and three conference rooms. In addition to this unique luxury retreat, Portopiccolo Bay also boasts more than 460 waterfront residences, a yacht club and private marina, a spa, a medical SPA fitness centre, clubhouse beach club, restaurants, cafes, cocktail bars and boutiques.

The resort's room categories are split into Classic and Deluxe Rooms and Junior, Executive and Senior Suites. This stunning offer is completed by the Signature Suite, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a separate living area and a large terrace with stunning sea views over the Portopiccolo Piazzetta and the charming marina. Restaurant & Bars
Falisia Resort & Spa offers one restaurant. At "Cliff" the chef combines the elegant and welcoming atmosphere with culinary traditions and latest trends. He creates healthy gourmet food, enriched by a rich selection of DOC wines. Even more enjoyable is the evening meal at Cliff on the wonderful terrace overlooking the marina and the Adriatic Sea. Inside the hotel Falisia Resort & Spa is the lounge bar "La Piazzetta" – a perfect location along the Adriatic coast for an exclusive cocktail, aperitif or snack. Highly recommended is the "Special Club Sandwich".
In addition, there are eight other restaurants throughout the resort such as the gourmet restaurant "Bris" which is the perfect place for a food and wine tour through typical regional cuisine and Central European reinterpretations. For an evening with friends and family, the pizzeria "L'Oro di Napoli" is the perfect place. Pure natural ingredients are combined here with the Neapolitan pizza tradition. Here are used flours from antique meal production together with the Mozzarella D.O.C. and fresh local ingredients and these give the Neapolitan pizza, which is baked in a wood oven, its authentic taste. “Maxi's” offers traditionally prepared seafood specialities, a selection of first-rate meat dishes, vegetarian dishes and a selection of high-quality wines.
Portopiccolo is not just a residential area. A real village was designed with a fascinating synthesis of architecture and technology, ecological sustainability and many services. In Portopiccolo there is no traffic, smog or noise, and yet you can get home directly with the vehicle. The environment of this impressive property development gives visitors, home owners and hotel guests access to one of Italy's most scenic and varied environments, just waiting to be discovered. Beautiful bays, lush vegetation and breath-taking views of the marina make Portopiccolo a truly enchanting place.
Portopiccolo was developed and built by the global developer Rizzani De Eccher (RDE). RDE has built Portopiccolo to the highest construction standards in terms of quality, features, environmental and energy efficiency. The area of Portopiccolo extends over an area of 35 hectares from the harbour promenade up to the hill that surrounds the bay. The offer of the residential complexes counts up to 460 residential units with an average purchase price of 6,500.00 euros per square meter. Different accommodation units are offered, from the studio apartment to the villa with a size between 50 and 400 square meters. Each of the properties is energy-certified in Classes A and A + and has a geothermal system for heating and air conditioning, noise and heat insulation and emission-saving doors and windows. Built on the site of a disused quarry, Portopiccolo is also a successful example of how a derelict site can be environmentally friendly, harmoniously integrated into the surrounding landscape and transformed into a picturesque and thriving site like a rocky stretch of coastline.
