Almanac Hotels is a new hospitality tastemaker developing iconic hotels in landmark European locations. Almanac Hotels aims to develop a diverse experience in each city and create a vibrant social hub that facilitates collaboration between guests and locals. Almanac Hotels was founded by Vienna based WSF Group, a privately owned company specialised in developing international luxury hotels. WSF Group was founded in 1990, has acted as Owner and Developer for hotels simultaneously and is owned by Herbert Haselbacher and his family. Herbert, an Austrian National and former professional Basketball player for the Austrian National Team, is the founder and mastermind behind WSF Group. Over the years, he brought his whole family into the business which created a new kind of family-owned luxury hotel operator. In 2015 the Haselbacher family decided to expand their services from Owner and Developer to become a Hotel Operator. This is how Almanac Hotels was introduced. Almanac Hotels will manage all properties that belong to the WSF portfolio, allowing the freedom to develop and create visionary projects that are entirely bespoke in nature. Almanac Hotels also count on their in-house architectural department, which ensures they remain in control over all design features and substantial renovations maintaining the highest quality and brand integrity. Each Hotel is created with a timeless design that respects the history and architecture of the buildings, all of which are in the heart of the city where they are in. The very first Almanac Hotel opened successfully in Barcelona in 2018. It is a 5-star boutique hotel, featuring a luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere in the midst of all of Barcelona's best destinations. Housed in an historic Ring Boulevard Palais alongside the lush Stadtpark in Vienna, Almanac Vienna is the next hotel of the brand, set to open by the end February 2023. This beauty features a luxurious, historic, and relaxed atmosphere in Vienna’s most sought-after destination. Just a few steps from luxury shopping, restaurant, bars, green spaces, and major sights. Almanac X Hotels will enter the market with their first property in Prague by the beginning of March 2023. One of Prague’s landmark hotels – the 204-room Alcron, just off Wenceslas Square – is to be refurbished and re-launched as the Almanac X Prague. The €20 million refurbishment is starting in January 2022 with a re-design of every room and all the public spaces. High on the agenda is a fresh approach to food and beverages: the Almanac X Prague will offer its own, modern take on local Czech cuisine activating alternative and traditional cooking. Guests will have the opportunity to explore Bohemian culinary traditions in a new, 21st-century setting.
